Jim & Johnna Phillips
 Graduating from Lee University in 1976, Jimmy Phillips quickly became known as an anointed minister of music. As a teen, he won the International Teen Talent Vocal Solo title. In 1977, he accepted the position of Minister of Music at the prestigious Princeton Pike Church of God in Hamilton, Ohio where his tenure as Senior Music Pastor lasted for 30 years. During that time he established himself as a worship leader, songwriter, arranger, choir director and performer. His compositions have been featured on several recording projects, international Christian television and Benny Hinn crusades.
Jimmy received the Church of God “Distinguished Minister Of Music” award in 1998 and again in 2003. His wife Johnna holds a Bachelor of Business Education degree from Lee University. She is an accomplished organist and singer as well as an instructor of American Sign Language. Jim has two sons who also graduated from Lee University. Justin is married to Kristen Looney and Josh married Jenny Clay. Both couples live in Atlanta. Josh and Jenny presented Pastor Jim and Johnna with their first grandchild, Emma Brooke, in December of 2008.
Pastor Jim & his wife Johnna joined the Campus Choir ministry as director in the fall semester of 2007. Jimmy was called to the ministry of directing “Worship Choir” at the age of 13 and believes that Campus Choir is the culmination of that calling. “Campus Choir is about worshiping the Lord and proclaiming His Glory… It’s about calling the church to wake up and hear what God is saying!"
Pastor Jim shared the following insight concerning his coming to Campus Choir:
“My good friend, the late Dr. David Horton, ministry founder of Campus Choir, and I often talked about the ministry of Campus Choir and its impact on the church, the world and the awareness of the importance of worship. We even talked of how one day I might somehow become directly involved with the ministry of Campus Choir… little did I know the circumstances that would lead to the fulfillment of this thought.”
Jimmy's vision for future of the choir can be summed up in the following:
“I want to share with you the lyrics of a chorus I wrote the other day….. ‘ONE THING I KNOW… the Lord is my healer. Another thing I know... the prayers of the righteous shall prevail. Another thing I know… the Father is faithful. And I know He will deliver me.’ I feel I must now add one more line to that song… ‘Another thing I know… God is in control.’ He is taking Campus Choir to places unknown to them before. He is revealing himself in extraordinary ways and making His presence known to all who will seek Him.”
“Campus Choir and I believe that everywhere we sing is ordained by the Lord and has but one purpose…to worship and glorify His Name!”
Jim and Johnna are also the Music Pastors at the Mountain Meadows Church of God in Ooltewah, Tennessee, one of the fastest growing and most exciting churches in America. Kevin and Devon Wallace are senior pastors.
